Dentist Check-Ups

Whether you’ve come in with a complaint, or you’re there for a regularly scheduled cleaning and check-up the dentist will conduct an exam that:

  • Evaluates your chief complaint (if you have one)
  • Exams the oral soft tissues
  • Diagnoses x-rays and photos
  • Assesses your bite (occlusion) and jaw joint
  • Evaluates your gums
  • Evaluates each tooth for decay, fractures, acid erosion
  • Visually screens for cancer

Our goal with each exam is to educate you on the current condition of your mouth as well as offer advice for any recommended further treatment, such as fillings, crowns, root canals, sealants, or other procedures.

We encourage you to visit our office for a routine dental exam and cleaning every 6 months to keep your smile looking its best.

Guided Biofilm Therapy

A Better Way to Clean

At Riverbend Dental Health we utilize proven methods for dental hygiene so you can see real results for your smile.

GBT or Guided Biofilm Therapy is an advanced dental technology that uses a combination of air polishing, ultrasonic scaling, and laser technology to remove bacterial biofilm, stains, and calculus from your teeth and gums. It is a gentle and minimally invasive treatment that is safe for patients of all ages, including those with sensitive teeth and gums.

The biofilm-guided therapy employs a special dye to reveal harmful bacteria in your mouth. Our dental team can the remove the biofilm entirely because the dye provides better visibility of its location.

BGT technology has many benefits including:

  • More effective at removing bacteria and plaque
  • Minimally invasive leading to less discomfort than traditional cleaning methods.
  • Faster treatment time reduces the amount of time patients spend in the dental chair.
  • Less damage to teeth than traditional cleaning methods.
  • Improved oral health as GBT technology is more effective at removing bacteria and plaque reducing risk of cavities, gum disease and bad breath.
